Israk & Mikraj

Di sana-sini, di surau dan masjid, berbagai aktiviti berkaitan Israk & Mikraj sedang berjalan. Alhamdulillah, saya berpeluang mendengan ceramah Israk & Mikraj malam tadi di mana penceramah menyampaikan agar kita dapat melihat peristiwa besar ini dari dua sudut, iaitu:

1. Hadiah Allah SWT kepada Rasulullah (SAW) untuk menggembirakan baginda berikutan kematian dua orang yang sangat baginda kasihi pada tahun itu (yang juga dikenali sebagai Tahun Kesedihan), pakcik baginda Abu Thalib dan tidak lama kemudian, isteri baginda Saidatina Siti Khadijah binti Khuwailid.

2. Membuktikan pengiktirafan yang teragung kepada Rasulullah (SAW) sebagai Penghulu segala nabi dan rasul. Penceramah menceritakan apabila Rasulullah (SAW) tiba di Baitul Maqdis, para nabi terdahulu telah sedia menanti. Rasulullah (SAW) langsung mengerjakan solat tahyatul masjid dan kemudian Malaikat Jibril menyuruh Nabi mengimami solat bersama barisan nabi terdahulu.

Sekadar berkongsi, semoga ianya menjadi ilmu bermanfaat kepada saya dan semua yang membaca.

Berubah

Mulai hari ini, blog ini berubah – semoga saya sentiasa patuh dan taat kepada Allah. Saya mohon keampunanNya dan keampunan semua sekiranya ada catatan-catatan sebelum ini yang telah menyinggung perasaan sesiapa sahaja. Saya insan yang lemah dan tidak mungkin terlepas dari melakukan kesalahan. Saya mohon keampunan!

Blog ini juga bertukar bahasa, kerana lebih mudah untuk saya berbahasa Melayu, bahasa ibunda saya. Terdapat juga catatan-catatan yang telah saya padamkan.

Daulat Tuanku! Congratulations to the Sultan of Kedah, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, on his installation as our 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong yesterday.

And thank you for the extra public holiday too!

I'm having a feeling that we're now living in the same era as when Pak Lah was our PM. MAS-AirAsia deal, unstability in the stock market, denial that Malaysia is not affected by international events, reduction in crime rate (although almost every new development in KL is 'gated development'), PEMANDU/TERAJU/UNIK/AIM/MRT CO vs. PRASARANA, etc. etc.

Maybe I'm just hungry as I'm fasting at the moment. What do you think?

Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan Mubarak to all Muslims!

May the holy month of Ramadhan bring out the best in all of us.

First term MP's worried they might not get benefits!!??

Read this in The Star today.

It seems that 'a big section of the first-term Barisan MPs and assemblymen in the other states apparently do not want the general elections before April.' Do you want to know the reason why?

Here's why: 'This is because they have not reached their three-year term and that would mean they lose their gratuities and pensions if they lost or are not renominated to contest.'

Some of us (the normal ordinary rakyat) would have to work for a minimum of 15 years to get benefits (pension, etc.) unlike them - only 3 years??!!

I thought the first and main reason why they want to be MPs and assemblymen is because they want to serve the Rakyat. Rewards, benefits, gratuities should be secondary. The joy of 'serving the people' should be a benefit in itself...

I guess that's just a dream in this Bolehland...
